Whether I'm working with students, teachers, or a group of administrators, it is important to me that my audience learns something they can use immediately.
Too often do we sit in a PD session while the speaker talks and shows us tools and strategies we can use on a screen. And while such sessions can be informative, I believe in learning by doing. This is why I design my workshops as making sessions. I want the educators in the audience to take a lesson plan or a digital artifact they can use the next day with them.
I have previously lead Professional Development sessions on creativity, technology, literacy, and giving students choice and voice. I am knowledgeable about the process of learning and teaching students how to learn, brain based strategies, flexible seating, collaborative learning, blended learning, and using educational technology to enhance learning.
