How I'm Writing A Book In 3 Days
I've decided to write a book in 3 days.
How?
Well... I figure that getting the words onto the page is the hardest thing about writing a book.
So... I'll get as many words as I can onto the page in 3 days.
That's it.
Just kidding. Getting the words onto the page is like the middle of a bigger project. I have it kinda' sorta' planned out. I know what the book's about and what most chapters will be. I trust my mind will take me where I need to be when the time comes. I know I will get new ideas as I'm writing. I know I will not finish the book in 3 days. But, I will write the damn thing in 3 days.
The plan is pretty simple. I will pick 3 random days and focus on one thing only: Writing. I will still eat and go to the bathroom, but that's pretty much it. Okay, that's a lie. I'll still answer my wife's texts. Everyone needs a break. I will not multitask. Multitasking is just a bad description of switching from task to task and getting less done all the while we lie to ourselves that we're being super productive. That's not happening in this case.
I'm shooting for a 100 page book. I figure I can get 30 + pages written each day. When I do, I'll have the book written.
It won't be edited and published, but it will be written. That's my goal.
The book is about the Power of Three.
The Power of Three is an idea that when things come in threes they are more enjoyable, effective, and fulfilling. I wrote a couple of posts explaining how I use it in my classroom:
After applying its principles in my classroom, I started noticing the Power of Three can be applied in everything I do and it does not matter if it's personal or professional. I realized that it works, because it is simple and easy for my (and anyone else's) brain to accept, understand, and follow. There are no long ass checklists to cross things off of. There are no hardcore regimens created by somebody else I must follow or else. It's all me. It fits my beliefs and my way of doing things. It's flexible, adjustable, and adaptable. Anyone can do it their own way.
So... I'm writing a book about it and I have to write it in 3 days.
If you think it's insane, I don't blame you. I wrote 1 book before and it took a while...
But I promise you that anyone will be able to pick this book up and find it helpful in their personal or professional life. Educators will be able to benefit, but so will lawyers, hipsters, and clowns.
How do I know that?
Simple. The Power of Three helps you control your mind.
If you think that's insane, I don't blame you. It does sound like Voodoo or something. But, it's not. It's brain science meets improvement, so you can level up in all aspects of your life.
Who knows, it might even help you fight your Post Trump Stress Disorder. And if it doesn't? You can have your money back. But first I have to write the damn thing. In 3 days.
Sign up if you'd like to be notified of my progress on this. Or don't. But I'd prefer if you did.
In a few days, I will send out an email telling you how you can get the first edition dirt cheap. Until then, wish me luck. Or don't. But I'd prefer if you did.
